Pastor Peg Schultz-Akerson
Our Pastor, the Rev. Margaret (Peg) Schultz-Akerson is lovingly known as Pastor Peg. She loves paying attention to the windy Holy Spirit and delights to be working in a congregation willing to be blown into the world by such radical love.
Pastor Peg received both a BA and an MA Ed. from California Lutheran University, Thousand Oaks, a Master of Divinity from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary, Berkeley, and a Doctor of Ministry from Claremont School of Theology, Claremont. Her doctoral thesis was: Luther's Large Catechism and the Practice of Faith: Reading the Word with the Heart. Pastor Peg is also a trained spiritual director and labyrinth facilitator.
Currently Pastor Peg serves the Southwest CA Synod as Co-Chair of the Green Faith Team. Pastor Peg is also involved in both inter-faith and ecumenical relations.
Pastor Peg and her husband Pastor Reg have two grown sons. Marty and his wife Omobobola and Micah and his wife Meggie. Peg and Reg have four grandchildren and share their home with Golden Retriever Tumba. Pastor Peg loves roasting organic veggies, watching birds, and tending her National Wildlife Certified backyard habitat.
